Sunturn approaches. The time of the year when all has died, and is reborn. The sun is at her darkest, the trees at their most bare. Thing soon are renewed.
It is an appropriate time to post a message of intent and renewal. To affirm things that are to grow in the coming year. This is a statement from Ashagal.
The messengers of peace and the earth are under assault. It is no time for artists and poets to be silent
Ashagal is an exploration of the human tribe through mythology, history and song. As a band we comprise at least half a dozen ethnicities. Most of our Ancestors are descendent from immigrants to the country of The United States of America. Some as recently as the past 100 years. We represent four different distinct spiritual paths/religious faiths. We are entirely inclusive. We as a band do not choose to impose our own philosophies upon each other, or our audience.
But we do stand for several things: cultural, ethnic, social, religious inclusiveness. We respect and believe it is a human right for people to worship how they choose, marry who they choose, gender identify how they choose, and be proud of whatever cultural heritage they embrace and not discriminated against because of it. We firmly stand against discrimination, and any political or governmental body or representative who endorses or espouses such a viewpoint. We oppose any who do not seek to protect our planet’s natural beauty, resources and ecosystem through either active destruction of the environment or denial that we are at least partially responsible for environmental damage. We represent the Human Tribe. We stand for The Earth.
We hope the coming seasons bring peace, healing and renewal for the human tribe. We, and The Earth depend upon it.
